Is a ৳600 Windows 11 Pro key genuine? What you are actually buying

Microsoft sells Windows 11 Pro at around USD 200. Keys are on sale all over Bangladesh at ৳500 to ৳900. Both facts are true, and the explanation is not piracy — it is that "a Windows key" is several different products.

**Retail.** Bought once, transferable to a new computer as many times as you like. This is the USD 200 product.

**OEM.** Bound to the first motherboard it activates on. Manufacturers buy these in bulk for the machines they ship. They cannot move to a new computer, and they are a fraction of retail. Most cheap keys are these.

**Volume / MAK.** Licensed to an organisation for a set number of machines. Not meant for resale at all. A key like this can be deactivated remotely months later, which is where the "it worked for a while and then stopped" stories come from.

What we sell is OEM, tied to one PC for its lifetime, and we say so on the product page. At ৳600 that is a fair deal if the machine is staying as it is. If you rebuild your PC often, buy retail from Microsoft instead — you will save money over three rebuilds.

What to watch for anywhere you buy: if the seller will not tell you which of the three it is, assume volume, and assume it will stop.
